Musika & BBC Introducing

It's been a crazy few days for me & Jack, first up on Thursday was a cheeky trip to carlisle to smash the BBC Introducing party at concrete then Saturday saw Musika bring welsh house legend Jamie Jones to tear up liquid rooms.

Thursday night was always going to be absolutley rammed, you can't exactly go wrong with a free party, 2 days before the biggest free ticketed music festival in europe, on the busiest student night in Carlisle, being headlined by 1Xtra's DJ Target.

Newcastle's Ape-X resident and founder Johnny Patrickson got the night going with some lush tech and deep house before Glover upped the tempo and delivered an hour of dirty dub and garage.

11pm saw me & Jack take to the decks to what would turn out to be one of the funnest, sweatiest sets we've played. Music wise we kept it upbeat and funky, which kept heads on the floor and feet grooving. But the pinnacle of the evening was (admittedly) a good shout by Jack and we finished on Mark Knight's storming remix/edit/mashup of Florence And The Machine and an old school disco track i can't quite remember the name of, it went down an absolute treat. It was an absolutely class night, can't wait to smash it down there again.

Here are some of the tunes we played...

La Zebra & Leonardus - Action (Original Mix)

Senor Stereo - I Am The Beat (Treasure Fingers Remix)

Mark Knight & Florence & The Machine - You've Got The Love (Original Mix)

And finally this storming remix of Pon Di Floor by Them Jeans that goes off anywhere...
Major Lazer - Pon Di Floor ( Them Jeans Remix ) by Them Jeans

Saturday night saw Edinburgh's biggest house night Musika present a producer who is dominating the house and techno scene at the moment, Jamie Jones.

Not gonna lie, I love nights like these, it's the only chance regular punters get the chance to hear some of the most underground/forward thinking music out there and Jamie Jones didn't dissapoint, I really don't know why more people don't get more involved. Plus you always know it's been a good night when you only recognise 2 tunes from a 2 and a half hour set.

Top night and i can't wait to see who else Musika are bringing to tear liquid apart. Here are the (only) two tunes we recognised from last night...
