Adriatique & Thyladomid - Feeling Good (Coat Of Arms Retwerk)

One of my stars of this year, Coat Of Arms, have delivered another remix following their phenomenal mix of Viadrina's 'Luna'. This time its for the relatively unknown Adriatique & Thyladomid's new single Feeling Good, its got that gorgeous analogue feel they always nail with that undercurrent of Bristol bass which characterises everything that Daniel pearce, aka Eats Everything works on. Alongside Coat of Arms partner Chris James he's been responsible for some of the smashes of this year, most notably the huge 'Is This Something', supported by the likes of Jamie Jones, need we say any more? Wrap your ears around this bad boy....

Bowski - Poppies EP

I really don't know what's going on in Bristol right now but it keeps churning out some of the most cutting edge house music out there right now. I'm a little slow on the uptake of this EP but i'm really feeling Bowski's unique weirdly chilled style. Favourite track from this is definitely 'White Russian'...

Kass Limon - Jupiter vs. Kassav

Following in the vein of the disco sound we're loving right now, this is a fresh cut from Kitsune's Jupiter and someone I've never heard of Kassav. Its a funky slice of nearly tropical disco, not quite apt for a cold British Christmas, but phenomenal nonetheless. If this is your vibe then watch out for Ian's phenomenal disco mix dropping any day now.

Jupiter vs. Kassav - Kass Limon (Download)

Full credit for this discovery goes to Jaymo & Andy George's Moda blog, where it featured among their, fairly accurate, tunes of 2011 post.

Nico Purman - Fade Away

Just stumbled upon this track whilst on the Crosstown Rebel's soundcloud page. I'll be the first to admit that i'm not the biggest deep house fan around simply because it can all get a bit boring and repetitive but then a tune like this comes along and completley blows me away, you need this tune...

Art Department - Touch You Gently

2011 was massive for deep house as a genre and 2012 is looking like it's going to be even bigger. One of the pioneering labels Crosstown Rebels have really set the benchmark, topping Resident Advisor's poll of the best labels of 2011. This latest release sees Art Department back on top form...

Diamond Lights - In The Morning (HeavyFeet Remix)

New remix from manchester based HeavyFeet, you might remember their tune 'I Will' which i was absolutely creaming over for a long time. Same pumping electro vibes here, perfect for rocking a dancefloor, love it.

Teva - Must I Go (Waifs and Strays Remix)

Continuing the theme of Bristol completely dominating the house scene right now, some of my favourite producers, the Waifs & Strays have turned out another banger, this time in the form of a remix. Having been literally addicted to their previous productions, 'Yeah Yeah' and 'Body Shiver' in particular, its safe to say I was excited for this one and it doesn't disappoint.....

Fresh from The Magician's latest Magic Tape is this Plastic Plates remix of Sneaky Sound System's 'Friends'. I dunno how he does it but Plastic Plates seems to create impossibly funky vibes with anything he touches and this is no different. Getting released soon on Rec Room...

Joris Voorn Vs. Moby - After The After

Joris Voorn is undoubtedly one of my favourite ever electronic artists, his melodic take on pumping tech house is rivalled by no-one. He's is also one of the very few producers who i can safely say has never produced a bad tune, which is why i couldn't wait for this to be released...

Miike Snow - Devil's Work (Alex Metric Remix)

By now you will almost certainly know of our obsession with Alex Metric and the theme continues with his remix of the excellent Miike Snow's latest release. Debuted tonight on Pete Tong's show its a textbook Italo-infused slice of house from the man behind Open Your Eyes as well as phenomenal remixes for the likes of Gorillaz, Ellie Goulding, Fenech Soler and more. Give it a listen below and get ready to have a new favourite tune, Metric kills it again!

Joe Goddard - Gabriel (Aston Shuffle Remix)

We've already waxed lyrical enough about Joe Goddard's anthem 'Gabriel' but that was before this remix! The Aston Shuffle are an Australian duo who put out some pretty funky electro but for this remix they've completely mixed it up, using steel drums to give the song a whole new vibe. I got this on an Edwin Van Cleef mixtape, which is also well worth checking out. Its out soon on the phenomenal Greco-Roman label, make sure to get it as soon as!

Joe Goddard - Gabriel (Aston Shuffle Remix) by TheAstonShuffle

And here's the mixtape I found it in, full of plenty of other bangers, I've linked up a download for Volta Bureau's 'Alley Cat' which is absolutely killing it right now for so many DJs.

Mosca - Tilt Shift (Julio Bashmore Remix)

Just a quick one today about two of Britains fastest rising bass-music producers. Nu-garage phenomenon Mosca has been tearing it up with tunes such as 'Bax' bringing together the best of house and garage to create undeniably funky beats and if you don't know who Julio Bashmore is by now you need to sort yourself out! This meeting of two pioneers of the scene brings predictably excellent results.....

Radiohead - Everything In Its Right Place (Tensnake Remix)

This is my final post of a pretty blog-centred day, I've had this beauty lingering in my Itunes for a week or two and somehow it got lost. Until this evening. Oh my god. Tensnake cannot produce a bad tune, this melancholy (how else do you approach a Radiohead remix?) slice of 2-steppy disco is perfect for a Sunday evening, giving Thom Yorke's vocals, if possible, even more power with phenomenal percussion. My obsession with Tensnake continues........

His recent track with Russo, 'Reality Check' has had me hooked for some time and I have no doubt you'll feel the same way, intelligently using a hip-hop tinged vocal to tip an already killer beat into overdive its a certified peak time banger, don't just take my word for it, check it out below.....

Hot Waves Volume 2

If you're a fan of The Juicy Show or are anything approaching a regular user of this blog then you'll know all about my penchant for Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Richy Ahmed and the whole Hot Creations camp. They've just released the second edition of their Hot Waves compilation which showcases some of the upcoming artists they come across. Its packed full of phenomenal tunes from Hot Creations regulars such as Russ Yallop, Lee Foss and Robert James through to relatively unknown artists such as Jakkin Rabbit and Ashley Wild. The selection of 19 tracks captures the deep house sound which Jones and so many others are championing right now with big, funky basslines and hip hop infused samples, proving just why they're on top of the world right now. Released last month it is definitely worth your time, I've had it on steady repeat this weekend and it's just getting better and better!

Download Hot Waves Volume 2 on beatport

So far my standout tracks have been the opener, Jakkin Rabbit's analog banger 'Blame', the always excellent Wildkats 'Perpetrating' which I played on Fridays show (online soon) and Ashley Wild's 'Riding In The Red', which has one of the coolest basslines I've heard pulsing throughout the entire track. Having chosen those 3, to be honest you could pick any track as a favourite and have no opposition from me, I cannot speak highly enough of it!

Fifteen Years Of Hospital Records

Hospital Records has become synonymous with the freshest, most cutting edge D'n'B around. They have pioneered the majority of the biggest names around, smashed pretty much every existing festival and brought D'n'B to the masses. Judging by their latest releases, they have no intention of letting up. In true Hospital fashion, to celebrate this milestone achievement they're releasing a double compilation CD of brand new material including a brand new VIP mix of High Contrast's 'If We Ever' as well as a history of Hospital mix by Cyantific. Even if D'n'B ain't your thing, get on this and see why this label has dominated for so many years....

Maya Jane Coles - Something In The Air

The phenomenal Maya Jane Coles delivers another slice of deep house perfection on Hypercolour, this is only a small snippet so stick around for the full version. She just posted it on her Facebook and I'm already hooked, simply phenomenal!

The 2 Bears - Work

Annie Mac dropped this tune last night on her show, from The 2 Bears aka Raf Daddy and Joe Goddard and it continues in the vein of their previous garage tinged house releases. Great work on vocals by the excellent Joe Goddard. This should whet your appetite before their album 'be strong' is released on Southern Fried on January 30th, expect big things!

Juicy! Loves: Flume

Here's a quick post about an Australian artist called Flume who has recently been drawn to my attention and makes some prime tunes. To me it seems like a slightly more upbeat poppy version of SBTRKT-esque chilled 2 step vibes, so so lush. My favourite tune is Over You Ft. Anthony For Cleopatra which is getting played on the Juicy! Show tonight, 8-9 on FreshAir.org.uk...

Tim Green - Cherry

If you're anything like a regular user of this blog then you'll know how wild I go for anything Tim Green touches, from his early work like 'Old Sunshine' and 'Make Me' with Emerson Todd as well as his huge remix of Cassius '99' through to the more recent stuff like his pumping remix of Argy's 'Unreliable Virgin' and the phenomenal 'Lemon' and it's safe to say he's not bucking the trend anytime soon. His new jam is a disco infused tech-house banger, 'Cherry'. Without a doubt one of my favourite tunes of this year and sure to be a staple in our sets over the coming few months, check it out below:-

Juicy! DJs Winter 2011 Promo Mix

So we've just finished off 2 mixes, one for the Edinburgh Evening News Clubbing podcast, which we'll be dropping later, the second is our brand new promo mix for Winter 2011. We've gone in on an electro tip for this one, aiming it more at the students and packing it with acapellas to make it more dancefloor orientated. It features some fantastic disco from men of the moment, Plastic Plates, Aeroplane (who has just dropped his In Flight Entertainment Mix), The Magician and Joe Goddard, before moving onto more fidgety sounds courtesy of Foamo and Say Yes To Another Excess (otherwise known as StopMakingMe and one half of The C90s) before finishing off with Fake Blood and Brodinski, in a whirlwind 40 minutes. The cherry on the cake however is that the mix features one of our productions, Ian's, as yet untitled, jazz fuelled banger, big look!

Have a listen, leave some feedback and if you like what you heard we're available for bookings up and down the country (preferably Edinburgh).

Give it a download here.

David K - Ghost Train

Just a quick one today from me, about the fantastic new release on Visionquest, by David K, Pete Tong gave it the ultimate seal of approval 2 weeks ago, making it the essential new tune and it's fully deserved! As with any Visionquest release the production is fantastic, its got a really nice, moody vocal and phenomenal bassline, turn it up and get hyped for the weekend!

Ron May, Monkey Safari, Foamo & J.Philip...

It's just under 2 weeks until radio broadcast starts back and we're both getting anxious to slot back into Fresh Air's Friday line-up. So to tide you over until the show starts back here are a few tunes and a mix...

Ron May - Limpopo (Original Mix)

This is some really funky tech house, reminds me alot of Ray Foxx's 'The Trumpeter' which was massive not too long ago. Don't know much about this guy but he uses loads of flutes and trumpets in this tune, absolute banger.

Monkey Safari - Son (Original Mix)

Monkey Safari are two German producers from Halle with some groovin deep/funky disco house vibes and they've just come out with this really chilled release 'Son'

Foamo - Ocean Drive (Original Mix)

Foamo - Celestial (Original Mix)

Next up are two real curve balls from Foamo. Although he was a pioneer of the fidget/bassline movement, both of these tune have a real balkan feel to them. The massive basslines are still there but are no longer the focus of the track, i sincerely hope this is his taste maturing because i'm loving what i'm hearing

Finally is a mix i picked up on Resident Advisor a while back, some absolutely amazing deep tunes in there, well worth a listen...
