We've already waxed lyrical enough about Joe Goddard's anthem 'Gabriel' but that was before this remix! The Aston Shuffle are an Australian duo who put out some pretty funky electro but for this remix they've completely mixed it up, using steel drums to give the song a whole new vibe. I got this on an Edwin Van Cleef mixtape, which is also well worth checking out. Its out soon on the phenomenal Greco-Roman label, make sure to get it as soon as!
And here's the mixtape I found it in, full of plenty of other bangers, I've linked up a download for Volta Bureau's 'Alley Cat' which is absolutely killing it right now for so many DJs.
Chad Valley – Fast Challenges James Blake – The Wilhelm Scream (Poindexter Remix) Moullinex & Peaches – Maniac (Instrumental Mix) Edwin van Cleef – Falling Joe Goddard – Gabriel (Aston Shuffle Remix) Kenna feat. Just a quick one today about two of Britains fastest rising bass-music producers. Nu-garage phenomenon Mosca has been tearing it up with tunes such as 'Bax' bringing together the best of house and garage to create undeniably funky beats and if you don't know who Julio Bashmore is by now you need to sort yourself out! This meeting of two pioneers of the scene brings predictably excellent results.....
I've just come across this preview put up on the Fool's Gold Records website. This massive collaboration between A-Trak and bassline master Zinc is set to be an absolute smash...
This is my final post of a pretty blog-centred day, I've had this beauty lingering in my Itunes for a week or two and somehow it got lost. Until this evening. Oh my god. Tensnake cannot produce a bad tune, this melancholy (how else do you approach a Radiohead remix?) slice of 2-steppy disco is perfect for a Sunday evening, giving Thom Yorke's vocals, if possible, even more power with phenomenal percussion. My obsession with Tensnake continues........
With Ian away I rode solo this week bringing a load of brand new tunes, we had Huxley as our hot tip (check the write up below the tracklist), Gui Boratto as our encore from the archives and a big top 3, check it out below:-

Hot tip feature on Huxley:-
Known to his friends as Michael Dodman, Huxley is making massive waves in the house scene, with releases on labels such as Act Natural and Matt Tolfrey's phenomenal Leftroom imprint. Alongside collaborators Ethyl & Russo or alone, Huxley produces garage edged tech/deep-house with undeniable funk. His recent track with Russo, 'Reality Check' has had me hooked for some time and I have no doubt you'll feel the same way, intelligently using a hip-hop tinged vocal to tip an already killer beat into overdive its a certified peak time banger, don't just take my word for it, check it out below.....
And check out his mix for the mooch podcast from a few months ago here:-

If you're a fan of The Juicy Show or are anything approaching a regular user of this blog then you'll know all about my penchant for Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Richy Ahmed and the whole Hot Creations camp. They've just released the second edition of their Hot Waves compilation which showcases some of the upcoming artists they come across. Its packed full of phenomenal tunes from Hot Creations regulars such as Russ Yallop, Lee Foss and Robert James through to relatively unknown artists such as Jakkin Rabbit and Ashley Wild. The selection of 19 tracks captures the deep house sound which Jones and so many others are championing right now with big, funky basslines and hip hop infused samples, proving just why they're on top of the world right now. Released last month it is definitely worth your time, I've had it on steady repeat this weekend and it's just getting better and better!
So far my standout tracks have been the opener, Jakkin Rabbit's analog banger 'Blame', the always excellent Wildkats 'Perpetrating' which I played on Fridays show (online soon) and Ashley Wild's 'Riding In The Red', which has one of the coolest basslines I've heard pulsing throughout the entire track. Having chosen those 3, to be honest you could pick any track as a favourite and have no opposition from me, I cannot speak highly enough of it!

We've had troubles in the studio and as a result we can't get last week (25/11) up online but we had Arslan in the studio previewing his new tune Nebula and taking us on head to head in a live mix off, broadcast on ustream too, check out the soundcloud link below to hear the preview, this is a tuuune, expecting big things from him!
Although we don't have the show we do have this 'behind the scenes video' of our Ustream feed of our mix-off with Slayer Slan after smashing out Nebula on the airwaves, hilarious scenes (the music goes off in the studio when mics are up so it jumps around a bit)
And finally we're moving onto a new Facebook page, check it out here and tune in on Friday when we'll be back gracing the airwaves!
We're on air in ten minutes with a maaaassive show! We've got new Luca Lozano, Aeroplane, Huxley and a brand new EP from Julio Bashmore on Futureboogie which we received about 3 hours ago! Hospital Records has become synonymous with the freshest, most cutting edge D'n'B around. They have pioneered the majority of the biggest names around, smashed pretty much every existing festival and brought D'n'B to the masses. Judging by their latest releases, they have no intention of letting up. In true Hospital fashion, to celebrate this milestone achievement they're releasing a double compilation CD of brand new material including a brand new VIP mix of High Contrast's 'If We Ever' as well as a history of Hospital mix by Cyantific. Even if D'n'B ain't your thing, get on this and see why this label has dominated for so many years....
We're massive fans of Maxxi Soundsystem and Danny Daze so this is a match made in heaven. It was released on Nurvous and is a certified banger, turn it up!
The phenomenal Maya Jane Coles delivers another slice of deep house perfection on Hypercolour, this is only a small snippet so stick around for the full version. She just posted it on her Facebook and I'm already hooked, simply phenomenal!
Annie Mac dropped this tune last night on her show, from The 2 Bears aka Raf Daddy and Joe Goddard and it continues in the vein of their previous garage tinged house releases. Great work on vocals by the excellent Joe Goddard. This should whet your appetite before their album 'be strong' is released on Southern Fried on January 30th, expect big things!
Here's a quick post about an Australian artist called Flume who has recently been drawn to my attention and makes some prime tunes. To me it seems like a slightly more upbeat poppy version of SBTRKT-esque chilled 2 step vibes, so so lush. My favourite tune is Over You Ft. Anthony For Cleopatra which is getting played on the Juicy! Show tonight, 8-9 on FreshAir.org.uk...
I stumbled across this tune recently from one of my favourite pop/funk/disco Treasure Fingers, this video only went up on youtube a week ago but you'll no doubt agree he's back to his best...
I've just subscribed to The Rebel Agency podcast, which is the agency covering the Crosstown Rebels acts, so it's got pedigree..... The podcast consists of a monthly mix from one of the artists signed to the agency, this month was the turn of Visionquest member and all round deep-house connoisseur Shaun Reeves and he smashed it! The Didier Sinclair tune is my favourite but to be honest they're all phenomenal:-
The fantastic Italian 5 piece that are Reset! have dropped a new tune, which we gave a play on our first show back on Friday. It comes in the form of a remix from newcomers 909 and has an amazing piano line to it. Currently there's only a radio rip available but rest assured when the full version drops we'll be getting it on here!
So on Friday night we had the great pleasure of returning to the Fresh Air studios and broadcasting our first show of the year and it was fantastic to be back!
We've shaken things up a bit this year with more focus on interviews and our local hero feature, we had a snippet of our Kissy Sellout interview, which you can listen to here and Laurence Nolan delivered us an excellent deep mix in preparation for his set tonight at Hawke & Hunter alongside Azari & III for Heavy Gossip & Ultragroove, listen to the mix below....
1. Trickski - Good Time To Pray (Feat. Ernesto) (Axel Boman Remix) 2. Jordan Peak Brutal Life 3. Lula Circus - Pumpin Groovin Moovin (Pezzner Remix) 4. DJ Assasin - A Face In The Crowd (Intellidred Mix)
Unfortunately for us the show only recorded for 45 minutes so the Juicy! chart and our encore tune by the excellent Jodi,Menz & Hosta are missing but they're included in the tracklist so you can get an idea of how things panned out. We also went deep for 3 tracks before Laurence's mix with some fantastic tunes from David K, Subb-An & Christophe, check it out below!
Tonight is our first show back of the year! We're 2 weeks behind the station launch but we've been off trying to skydive and seeing Eric Prydz tear up newcastle.
This year we're occupying our usual 8-9 slot every Friday night of term and as per, you can listen in on Fresh Air Radio
Then catch all our interviews and past episodes on the Juicy! Mixcloud.
Speaking of interviews, we caught up with Kissy Sell Out just before the Edinburgh leg of his UK tour, listen to the full interview here...
Hot on the heels of the phenomenal Benoit & Sergio's remix, comes Juicy! favourite, Tensnake's interpretation of one of the standout tracks on The Friendly Fire's new album 'Pala'. He brings his textbook nu-disco groove to an already excellent tune and proves why he is quite simply the best at what he does, check it out below!
